Player exp formatted placeholder

Hello, I am trying to use the vanilla %player_current_exp% placeholder and it works, but it shows the full amount not formatted. Im trying to show it has like 78k instead of the full 78000. Anyone got any ideas how to get it formatted? Im using a paper server.
