Bazzite - Desktop - Nvidia (3080ti)- Gnome not launching games
I appear to not be able to run steam games in Bazzite. I know that this is a "me" issue since on my win4 I can run them perfectly. It's been so good as a gaming OS just working, I decided that I want to try and get my desktop over to Bazzite too.
I've installed the OS, installed steam and I've played a couple of thing fine in Emulation station. My Next Step was to try and get something working under steam, so I've ran "Proton Up" and set Steam to use GE-Proton9-25. I click play in steam and it says that it's launching then nothing... I've enabled the proton logging and get

I am sure that I've just missed a basic step, and I'd so love to be able to drop windows! Please help! ❤️

try installing proton ge 24 instead of 25
could it matter that I am trying to run a game that I downloaded in Windows and I've added that to my steam lib?
that might be the issue yeah
same issue with 9-24

so yeah this being my desktop I've got say
C: blah blah blah
E: Games\SteamApps etc
and that's been fine
I've installed bazzite on what was my D drive. but of course I can still access my E drive
hmmm
gimme a sec
yeah just try installing it on a more linux compatible file system and see if it works
NTFS doesn't always play nicely
how is EXT4 in windows? it'd be nice to have 1 games dir shared
windows hates EXT4
i think brtfs is the closest you get to working
windows is happy with brtfs???
i think so?
there's a driver you can install i think
and I've heard of windows itself being installed on brtfs
I've heard of https://github.com/maharmstone/btrfs?tab=readme-ov-file
GitHub

WinBtrfs - an open-source btrfs driver for Windows - maharmstone/btrfs
I assume that's what you're on about
It'll be a bit of a PITA if I have to reformat but it'll be nice if that's just the issue
If that partition you're trying to launch the game from is NTFS that's 100% your issue
well that's a pain in the bottom... seems to run fine in my linux partition... I might try btrfs when I have time to download things
