Safety Boots
Anyone know of safety toe boots that are white or multicolor/colorful/bright or otherwise not brown/black? Preference to 'jump boots' or punk styling. 1" heel, ~6-10" calf. Side zips.

Do these need to be ASTM rated, or are we just talking steel toes for style points?
I don't think work checks for ASTM but I would like the reduced injury safety part. The ones that have the hidden plate in the sole for stepping on rusty nails would be nice too. steel or composite - not picky there.
How bad of an idea would it be to spray paint black leather boots a bright multicolor?

I prefer white as the secondary color but black showing through with wear might not look terrible?

Do you have a pair of leather boots that are looking a bit dull and worn out? Painting them might just be the perfect solution to give them a new lease on life! But, how do you paint leather boots? It may seem like a daunting task, but with the right materials and techniques, you

Generally, if one works in a workplace where safety toes are required, it’s unwise to buy unrated boots — you’re fucking yourself if you ever get injured in more ways than one.
There are leather paints, but you’d be better off trying to use a die or specific paint over spray paint. Also, lighter colors would take any paint / dye better.
That said, just look for sneakers. Almost guaranteed there’s ASTM rated stuff that looks like trainers or VANs-esque
I mostly work remote. Just would suck to be in a shared woodshop and drop something, or step on a nail when exploring around the city. Work is maybe 2x/yr and the 1 in heel is the only req they have I didn't also have.
Leather paints makes sense. Would dye even work on a dark color?
Well, I can't find any boots with a safety toe in white, so I figure I might as well paint the black ones I have. I suppose I could buy tan new if the type I like came in tan, but that is still somewhat dark and I have old ones to try paint on.
Sneakers wouldn't work for work, and more importantly wouldn't work for what I want as my daily shoes. Too much hiking and yardwork to not want the coverage, plus I like the ~8" look on the rare occasion I don't wear pants.
