Is it possible to set scaling >100% while keeping the keyboard fully visible on screen?

I'm running an Ally X and have seen people suggesting using a scaling % that isn't fractional, and that the keyboard should downsize correctly that way, but the keyboard just becomes too large to display on screen that way. I know setting a lower scaling does the job, like 100%, but using the touchscreen to navigate is impossible when everything is so small. Am I doing something wrong, or is it just not currently possible to have a bigger scaling without affecting the keyboard size?
