Shoes for bars/clubs
I’ve been looking at my regular rotation of shoes and noticed that I have mostly casual and work shoes but nothing good for going out to bars & clubs. So, I thought I would ask for suggestions to help get the ball rolling and so I can focus my search to what works for me.
Any suggestions?

What kinds of bars and clubs do you go to?
I don’t really go to anything fancy or formal
what styles are you generally into?
Generic advice of Dr Martens 1461/Solovair Gibson.
i’d go for something you don’t mind getting drinks/other fluids into and that’ll clean easily. smth like the solovair/dms would suit that well
I forgot to mention that I also live in a hot&humid city, typically above 28°c for most of the year
And this is how most of my favourite local bars look

I usually go for a smart casual style using dark colours with a mostly Uniqlo wardrobe
But that’s for work
I’m not great at dressing to go “out”
Mexico has a shoe called the hurache that's a cross between a sandal and a loafer, and Spain has the espadrille which is a canvas slip on. Both would be a good choice for the climate

I do like the idea of a solovair gibson as it’d be more durable
Far more than my converse or vans
I also like semi-alternative sorta styles
I'd recommend the solovair over the Dr. Marten personally, build quality for price seems better on solovair and I'm partial to their greasy leather

Something classic but still comfortable
I only wear boots in winter, otherwise it’s a pain
I have those. They're good and basically go with everything.
Dr.Martens and Solovair are typically pretty comfortable due to the PVC sole with air pockets, if the last fits well they would be a good choice
They also have decent tread so if you're caught in bad weather it isn't an issue
Exactly what I was thinking. For example, maybe these linen pants?

They’re my typical hot weather pants
Otherwise these linen pants, but they need a lot of ironing

(And after ironing they’re still wrinkled)
people complain about breaking in DMs/Solovairs, they’re not as bad as people say
just wear some decent socks and you’ll be fine
I have a few Docs and I can agree to the breaking in challenges
Also, if anyone has any general fashion recommendations for bars/clubs similar to the vibe of the bar photos I posted
I could never wear boots in 28 degrees
Exactly my issue
Raffia or otherwise woven material loafers could work
https://www.toddsnyder.com/products/jacques-soloviere-lex-raffia-loafer-naturalbeige something like these
Todd Snyder
Jacques Solovière Lex Loafer in Raffia
The ideal summer loafers, woven from raffia with a cool profile and fitted with comfortable double-welted lightweight micro soles. These loafers have natural woven raffia uppers with leather trims and linings for comfort. Wear them with cuffed chinos or relaxed tailoring. Natural raffia fabric, tan nappa leather pippin

I steer clear of loafers as I hate a loose fit, also not great for durability in a bar setting
Should I go collar shirt or is a nice plain T-shirt okay?
Depends on the vibe of the club. I prefer Cuban collar for hot weather collared shirts
Like this?

Also, any pants recommendations?
Yupp, just like that!
What do you like concerning pants? Loose fit, slim fit, wide, tapered, etc?
I previously would go slim fit but I am currently enjoying regular fit. I’m not that tall (5’8) so I feel wide or tapered could always be odd on me
I usually roll pants, I prefer that
Main thing is that I meed something breathable and comfortable (not stiff or restrictive)
Country Road
Cotton Linen Pant
Straight fit is great, I'd go with linen pants and embrace the wrinkles or maybe a tropical wool trouser with a looser weave. Some companies make rayon/Lyocell/tencel pants that would be fun and match well with a similar fabric collared shirt. Would give great vibes
Trust me, it won’t be odd
I’m trying to stick with less harmful fabrics than rayon and lyocell
Understandable, you could always look for second hand on those if still wanted to explore. Wool, linen, Ramie are good choices then. Warm weather cottons are hit and miss imo, but those are also an option. Monitaly does a summer weight vancloth that is nice
Getting these
They have a relaxed fit
Which should be good for humidity
