SFTP on bisect
so... i read the previous threadfs and im still kinda lost. i filled out the correct info except for server name, because i cant identify it for some reason.
so the long and short of it is, where would i find the server name for bisect, and what would the standard filepath be? i cant find a way to copy it and i cant see the actual filepath because its not on my computer.
Im also fairly new to this whole thing so reading the guide 20 times hasnt helped much lol

It should just be the root of the SFTP share. If SMM can't find it, that means something else must be entered incorrectly.
Have no idea what the root would be, can only find FactoryServer.exe, no path to it. and SMM isnt doing anything other than the loading wheel.

Ah, I see, you forgot to set the port. BisectHosting uses port
2022
, but if the field is left unset in SMM it'll default to 22
.i tried 2022 as well. this was just an example of what i was seeing.
So ive had the server stopped, correct info input except for filepath, and it still wont find it.
Ok, i ran through the steps again, removed the :2022 from the Host field, double checked the correct port and password and all that. Think removing the :2022 from that field did it. Its working now.
but now with the mods loaded, my connection times out. wont let me connect to the server. sees it, server is active, been restarted and all that several times, but wont let me stay connected to it.
Can you send the server log and client debug info?
i can try, but its all a little word-salady and overly loquacious.
What do you mean?
Only log i can find is massive.
The log should be at
/FactoryGame/Saved/Logs
which you can navigate to in the 'Files' tab in the left sidebar of the Bisect Games Panel. Then there should be a file called FactoryGame.log
, right-click it and click 'Download' from the context menu and send that file here.
Something is causing the replication reliable buffer of
[UActorChannel] Actor: FGConveyorChainSubsystem /Game/FactoryGame/Map/GameLevel01/Persistent_Level.Persistent_Level:PersistentLevel.ConveyorChainSubsystem
to be overburdened! The limit is 8 but there were 259 items.
This crash tends to happen when joining a multiplayer game with a lot of content. It can sometimes take a while, ex. a certain number of buildings placed or schematics to be unlocked, for the problem to actually appear. Try the following:
- Installing the "Fix Reliable Buffer Overflow" mod created by the SML team to mitigate one of the most common causes of this crash
- Removing mods that introduce lots of recipes or schematics (HUB/MAM/shop unlocks) or Mod Savegame Settings.
-# Rule logic: https://regex101.com/r/LhDDpt/
-# Responding to reliablebufferoverflow
triggered by @IwIReaperIwIYeah, install the Fix Reliable Buffer Overflow mod like the bot said. Should fix your issue.
ill give it a shot.
