"Add an A, AAAA, or CNAME record for your root domain so that my-site.com will resolve."
When I try to go to my website, https://my-site.com, it gives me "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN". This is odd, because it was working before I added a subdomain called "games".
I want my root domain to show the same page that's like "my-site.pages.dev"

When deploying your Pages project, you may wish to point custom domains (or subdomains) to your site.
I tried, but it lost me at some point
It doesn't seem to show how to connect the apex domain to my custom pages subdomain afaict. It seems to imply that it should be pointing there by default
Did you do this part?
1. Log in to the Cloudflare dashboard ↗.
2. Select your account in Account Home > Workers & Pages.
3. Select your Pages project > Custom domains.
4. Select Set up a domain.
5. Provide the domain that you would like to serve your Cloudflare Pages site on and select Continue.

Is this on the same account? It seems to not be detecting your domain as being active on Cloudflare

If you delete the Custom Domain and then recreate it, does it show something different?

damn I think it's because I never hit the "check dns records" button
It is verifying now, but the chances of it taking 24hrs are hopefully less. the first time I did this it worked in like 10 minutes

I was worried about deleting it and setting it up again because I didn't want to find out it was still being verified
If it did break halfway through, that would be a bug, and then I could report it
But hopefully it wouldn't break
