GPU Selection before downloading the installation files

Hi, I'm a long time Windows user and would like to make my first steps towards switching to Linux. Since my main usecases are "use a browser" and "game a bit" Bazzite seems right for me. However I'm a bit confused about downloading the installation files. To try it out, I'm using an HP Laptop 15-db0205ng. (I'm not switching over my main machine just jet) - The laptop CPU is an: "AMD Ryzen™ 5 2500" - with an on-board: "AMD Radeon™ Vega 8" Now, the download section on the Bazzite website asks : "Who is the vendor of your primary GPU?". Easy enough, that would be AMD. However, the options are seperated into 3 categories: - "Modern GPUs" - "Older/Legacy GPUs". - "Even Older GPUs" (I'll ignore that one, since it is just grayed out entirely.) Under "Modern GPUs" there's the option: "AMD (RX 4xx+)". Under "Older/Legacy GPUs" ther's: "AMD (HD/200/300/RX)". Neither mention Vega at all, leving me a bit torn between the two. On the one Hand, Vega 8 is (at least in my opinion) a resonably modern (if on-board) GPU. On the other hand it is definiteley not an RX 4xx+. But then again it is also not an HD, 200, 300 or RX GPU either. So, what option would be correct here?

but if you just want a Windows replacement yeah it doesn't matter, just desktop should be fine

Vega is RX 400+, they were released after AMD's RX 400 and 500 series those AMD and Intel options only matter to determinate if your hardware can run Steam Gaming Mode or not

really? I though they work fine with in Steam Gaming Mode, never tested myself tho well if you want to use the desktop image it doesn't matter anyway

from my search most vega doesnt work with gaming mode but some higher end/newer one could work considering its a 2nd gen ryzen i doubt it

Ok, maybe I could have clarified this better. My bad. 😅 So, while I'm interested in Gaming mode too, I actually want to test it as a desktop replacement-of-sorts for Windows. (Since my long-term goal is getting away from Microsoft.) If that goes well, then I'm sure I will test gaming mode too, just not this time around. So, if I understand this correctly it doesn't matter in my case, but legacy would be technically correct?

if you are willing to test it in gaming mode you're free to do so, but just keep in mind it may not work
