sewing machine problem

i decided to start sewing but when I tried to run something trough for practice alot of thread was building up. does anyone know what could be the issue because i tried rethreading the top part which is what a manual video said to do

I would try reducing your stitch length and seeing if you can strengthen the tension on the machine and see if that makes a difference Did you check the bobbin?

if your talking about the pedal you have to push it down for it to sew. I just keep getting extra thread

Yeah what I mean is there should be a lever that lifts and lowers the "foot"

Either the presser foot isn’t down or the bobbin is threaded wrong
