Designer Spotlight: Heron Preston - Topic of the day 2/12/25
Perhaps known for his iconic cyrillic logo and colorful heron graphics, Heron Preston Johnson of eponymous label Heron Preston catapulted to the top of the fashion scene with his NASA collaboration in 2017. This collection used an iconic NASA logo as a core theme, expanding on his fascination with mixing and matching recognizable logos. Continuing on an aesthetic popularized by Virgil Abloh’s Off-White and Kanye’s Yeezy, his many tees and hoodie prints have dominated the late 2010s streetwear scene. On runway, his philosphy of seasonal collections have been praised for its view on sustanability, using low waste manufacturing methods and repurposing used materials. Streetwear in the 2010s was no doubt hugely influenced by Heron.

all i know about this brand is when i worked at nordstrom 7 years ago interacting with it made me wanna stop
anyways getting back on topic. I always felt like he was overshadowed by his peers from been trill. Although he did seem to be the one that managed to live a more balanced lifestyle
his CK collab was pretty good though, some nice products
overall he just seems like a chill guy riding the waves of his success in the 2010's. he does some interesting shoe developments but I think he's not as hungry anymore
He is so 2010s streetwear lol
Graphic on hoodie
Honestly inspired a lot of Yeezy graphics
my backless shirt is heron Preston womenswear hehe
Agree with gv the brand never did much super interesting but I guess if that’s what this guy likes and his audience buys then that’s fine. I don’t think his brand will be remembered as incredibly innovative but not everything needs to be.
