When clothes are a little see through
Hey all just wanted to get some opinions on something I’m stuck on. How do you think about that thing where lighter clothes of certain fabrics (some white OCBDs for example) can leak the color of your skin or undershirt through a little bit. I have this impulse from being a clothing pleb that being able to see anything relating to my skin underneath in any way is bad, so tryna break through that and figure out how to think about it productively or if I should just not consider it at all. I can kinda rationalize it in a more summery outfit where I’m already showing more skin that usual, but having a harder time thinking about it in more winter minded fits. Should I just not think about it? Or just wear an undershirt? “it depends”?

I personally don't really worry about it. I certainly don't think it's bad from a fashion perspective. I think visible undershirt almost always looks worse. But if you feel like it's inappropriate to wear a certain shirt in a certain setting I'd pick a different shirt or wear an undershirt. If you're uncomfortable with it, wear an undershirt or just don't wear the lighter shirts in winter. If they're that see-through / thin then it sounds like we're talking about shirts that you would layer over in wintery fits anyway.

other option is v-neck undershirts in light grey or skin tones like Uniqlo airism or heattech but it's a non-issue and up to personal preference
I actually have those undershirts but the point of those is to blend in with your skin anyway, so on the outside it will look like skin showing through a little bit, so the lesson here is that I need to bust the bad preconceived notion
I've really liked this for my undershirt. Deep enough V that I can wear it without the collar showing, long enough to tuck comfortably, and a good match to my (white person's) skin.
