Xbox Series Controller not able to connect via bluetooth
hi there,
i can see that mostly everyone is able to set up their game controllers quite easily, but i'm having some trouble. i set the controller to pairing mode, click on "Pair Device...", click on the "Xbox Wireless Controller". the window that pops up next says connecting, the controller light inticates that it is connected, but then the controller turns off while the window suggests it's still trying to connect to the controller. afterwards, the controller is paired but can't connect to the PC at all.
i had this issue on fedora as well!! back then i was able to fix it by installing xpadneo, but here, i can't seem to figure out how to do that. following their installation steps always leads me to some sort of "can't create a directory here, file system is read-only". i realize this might be because bazzite is an atomic distro, but it's my first time using one of these, so i have no idea how to proceed.
any help is appreciated!!

We ship xone ootb
You don't need xpadneo and it should have been impossible to install it
Reset your system to a supported state and try updating your controller firmware
The series controllers need no setup, no installs
i updated it the first time i ever connected it to a linux install, so i'd expect it to work here too. the xpadneo setup failed so i'd say it's still my system is still in a supported state
can confirm thje controller works when connected via a cable, so the issue is somewhere with the bluetooth connection
Update the firmware in windows
And it should work from then on
Unless something is funny with your Bluetooth adapter
Solution
yeah it was a controller firmware update, immediately connects now
strange cause i do remember updating it before using it on linux for the first time
thanks anyway
