Issues with 7Z on bazzite gnome
Hey all, first post! Tried to read through some support documents and couldn’t find anything that seemed to be this exact issue.
First some background: I’m running this on an ROG Ally. I have a smaller SSD with just bazzite gnome installed as a sort of a dipping my toes install. I love bazzite and after using it, I genuinely find it hard to switch back to windows. I’m now running dual boot bazzite gnome and a small windows partition, for games like Fortnite and Minecraft bedrock, on a larger SSD.
On the small SSD I installed the rocker bacon MO2 script and after some troubleshooting, got my Skyrim mod list working perfectly.
After moving to the new SSD and getting windows 11 dual boot working, I went to install the rocker bacon script again but am met with an error:
“Your system is missing the following programs:
*7z
They should be available in your distro’s package manager.
Install them and try again.”
I ran “sudo dnf install p7zip” and was met with the terminal telling me that 7 zip was already installed. I then tried moving the folder with the rocker bacon MO2 install to documents instead of downloads and received the same error.
I tried to just use steam tinker launch’s MO2 and was unable to get a couple of mods working making most of my load order not usable.
If anyone is familiar with this or options to try I would be very grateful for the assist 🙂

We had one build go out without 7Z pre-installed
Try updating and then let me know if you still have the issue
Just to make sure, I have the terminal open right now. What should I type to update? ujust update ?
Yep
Let me try that again. Anything I’m looking for as far as a version number?
All of the sections seem to be saying that it was all already updated
If it's showing you're up to date I will believe it
In that case send me a log of whatever it is you're running so I can see what it's doing

Can you share that script?
Probably easiest to throw it in a zip and then upload that here
Or link me to where you downloaded it

I haven’t tried downloading older versions but I have tried downloading the latest 5.0.3 again to see if maybe the file just got corrupt somehow but still the same
Just to see I tried 5.0.2 and I get the same error. Is there maybe a different way I should try executing the install.sh?
I'll let you know as soon as possible what I find
Big thanks
Just checking in to see if this issue was repeatable on your end? I’m hesitant to do a complete reinstall but if the issue isn’t repeatable that might be a next step?
