I have digital ocean and azure credits

I have digital ocean and azure credits to burn and the latter seem to be priced crazily so would be ideal! 😀 Maybe if there is no solution with public there is one with private connection? I’d be open to using d1 instead also but I have about 50gb of data already so I don’t know if limits can be increased to say 100gb (for future scale) Also happy to discuss using r2 as this is mostly a primary store of library like data with reads being carried out from my typesense instance. I am on CF startups program also

@Sam you are saying that connecting to a Digital Ocean database that has a public ip isn't working?

Hey Sam! just tried this out. it does work, but digital ocean takes some time for dns propagation (just tried it, it took about 5 minutes for the domain to be propagated) this is actually something do documents https://docs.digitalocean.com/support/why-does-my-domain-fail-to-resolve/ they recommend this (pretty cool) tool to verify dns propagation https://dnschecker.org/

Make sure to use the public ip configuration and click show password before copying

It worked @thomasgauvin thanks! I suggest adding to the error in the dashboard that the user may need to wait 10mins or whatever, and also adding digital ocean to the example providers in the docs as there is content on this discord and cf forums saying digital ocean ip ranges have problems with hyperdrive.

@Jun is this something you can look into? the steps are pretty straightforward, you should be able to do same as other db's and add a note that do has longer dns propagation delay that results in longer wait time could you also check if we could add to troubleshooting hyperdrive docs? something along the lines of "if the error contains DNS, it is possible that the DNS for your vendor's database has not propagated yet, wait 10 minutes to retry or use this tool to figure out"
