I may have really messed up my Tailscale, how would one go about reinstalling it completely?
Kind of just the title, needing help on this if possible.

On a Steam Deck OLED if that matters
only thing that can be wrong is something you have done, undo that.
there is nothing to reinstall as tailscale is part of the image, if it was an issue with the install, everyone would have the issue
note: i dont use tailscale myself but the only place issues can be is in your
/home
and inside /etc
Well, I may have to reinstall the OS, then
why is there a "?" in the command
„I may have really messed up my Tailscale“ I think there‘s a misunderstanding here, OP never blamed it on the image.
they asked how to reinstall it
Is that not normal, it was the way it was put in parentheses
Yes, I assume the intention was to restore it to a state before OP did whatever broke it.
I cannot simply undo what I have done, been trying various methods for hours now
run the command without "?"
Same thing
This entirely
reboot first, check using
sudo systemctl status tailscaled
then if it stopped run sudo systemctl start tailscaled
Yeah, the same things as in the original image
the only place issues can be is in your
/home
and inside /etc
i do not know the various things you have done, but those 2 location are the only places where configs can beThe issue with this is that I've already tried various reinstall/uninstall methods, I don't really like getting on forums to ask for help if I can try to work things out on my own, so this is kind of a last resort for me
It isn't simply configs
reinstall usually doesnt work in linux afaik
unlike windows, i find most linux app doesnt delete their config when uninstalled
also in bazzite or any fedora atomic, in image application literally cannot be messed up unless its a disk corruption
usually because it is not included in the package to avoid overwriting the users config
I'm just looking to see if there's any refresh/revert I can do to bring it back to what it was without having to reinstall the OS and/or download all my data again
