Fit check on these 2 jeans - Oni Denim 288 and Trophy, High Rise Denims
The Oni Denim feel ok but I can fit 2 fingers in the waist, worried they might stretch. I'm also worried about the back, it felt ok but it doesn't look totally right to me. Should I size down or get a different one? This is black secret denim but I wanted to get the Kasuri but they're out. I think I'm on the right track with higher rise jeans and open leg angle but not sure what else I should be looking for.
Apologies for the poor angles. I included some Studio D'Artisan's I got to try on if you also want to comment.

I think both the Oni and Trophy look a little small. They appear to be pulling on the waist button on both pairs (more noticeable on the Trophy pair). Along with some bunching in the crotch
I'm planning on losing 15lbs (already lost 35) so I think the waist issue will be fixed, how can I fix the bunching in the crotch?
Very hard for me to say why they are bunching in the crotch from some pictures. It could be that because they were too small in the waist it's causing the fabric to pull like that. It could also be that the rise or the hip measurements on those pairs doesn't work for you. It could be the shape of the back yoke.
Sometimes denim just does that though and the bunching goes away as the fabric wears in, like I said very hard to tell from some pictures for me
Is the rise too big or too small?
I mean too high/low
Honestly I don't think the rise is the issue. I think the jeans are just too small for you currently (I know you said you are currently losing weight)
This pair for example, you can see the button on the waist is pulling on the buttonhole.

better to buy what fits you now - it's impossible to predict how your body will change with weight loss or even the rate at which you'll be able to drop the weight you want to get rid of
Also there is always belt
The problem is these are size 38 and these brand don't make a 40 🤣
hate to tell you they're too small then
