Bazzite keeps crashing (green screen crash)
Need help with bazzite crashing during gaming, after waking up from sleep mode and when navigating steam game mode UI. I have managed to reduce the number of crashes by decreasing my curve optimizer undervolting.

Pc specs:
Ryzen 5600
Asrock X370 Pro4
XFX Rx6600xt quic
32gb 3600mhz ram (klevv bolt X)
try to remove any undervolting
Undervolting through PBO, if I disable PBO it will probably fix it?
Just turn off any CO you have applied
Okay 👌
Doesn't work still crashes
try xmp off?
but ryzen 5000 should run 3600
I'm running 4 x 8gb 3600mhz ram, probably quad memory issue?
try xmp off first
I turn xmp off and CO off it doesn't crash
Nvm it still crashes
Hmm
Try memtest
Or if you still have a windows then tm5
Running with my xmp profile pbo + CO on, no issues for now

Probably GPU issue, I have zero errors with TM5
Trying to update drivers to Mesa 24.3.4 however file system is full, is there a way to I clean the file system
I switched my XFX bios to performance, no crash so far
I'm marking as solved no issue after switching vbios
👍
Hmmm changing adaptive sync settings to off crash my system leaving to automatic doesn't crash, weird
Might be weird kwin stuff?
But it shouldn't have issues
Given how long kwin had been for
I guess you can try to remove any layered packages and try again
Probably? For now if I change my display settings VRR and colour accuracy it will GSOD, if leave it at VRR at automatic and colour accuracy as limited it doesn't crash
hmmm
maybe try another port
Okay 👌
haven't tried another port yet due to all the other port being DP (I was using HDMI), however system still crash at default settings but every 2 hours of use, when it GSOD, I was still able to hear whatever game/video/audio I was playing
will be testing the DP port today and tomorrow since the DP cable I bought just came
Instead of green screen it's a black screen
huh thats weird
maybe try the stock bios
don't think bios is the issue
current error in journalctl
idk then
have you tried reinstalling?
Yes I tried, hmmm should I reformat the usb and use another software for the boot partition? I'm using balena etcher for it
if it passes the test during first boot (of the USB) then its probably fine
Hmmm okay
i guess you can ask around for other people
this is way out of my knowledge
I feel like you have some hardware issue (mce = machine check exception)
ram or cpu probably
the rest of the errors are also kinda weird and all over the place but they dont seem to be critical
I really don't think is ram since I already did ram test
CPU wise not sure but I don't encounter this on windows
hmm thats weird
if Im getting it right bazzite is only crashing when color accuracy is limited and vrr automatic? if so, it could be a kwin issue
sorry I dont really have much else to add
i ll search kdes bugzilla if there is anything
also i looked up the hardware error, seems like it can be caused by Core Performance Boost
if that doesn't work, also try setting "typical idle current" (esp. if its a ryzen which your is)

So far so good! No mce: Hardware errors and no spontaneous (unplanned!) reboots since Sep 20. Yay. Steps: go to BIOS via F10 on boot click setup disable Core Performance Boost save it! I do not know if there are any performance issues related to this change.
no idea if those apply to your case
It starts crashing like crazy when colour accuracy is on accuracy and when VRR is not automatic, if is default (colour accuracy limited and VRR automatic) only hard GPU loads will crash
Yeah will try disable Core Performance Boost and report again
Nope it gets worst
Crash on boot :dispair:
I'm losing hope :Hide_pain:
Probably GPU issue 😕
