No EFI option for file system when creating new partition
Trying to install Bazzite based on the YT tutorial for dual boot tha't s on the bottom of the installation guide page and I don’t seem to have an option to select EFI as a file system. Not sure if I can select automatic as I want to keep an already existing NTFS partition on that drive that’s extra storage for Windows. Not sure what to do.

Looks like you are CSM booting, which should work but is usually a bad idea

When using Advanced Custom and creating a new partition, only options are:
- BIOS Boot
- BTRFS
- ext2
- ext3
- ext4
- F2FS
- physical volume (LVM)
- NTFS
- SWAP
- VFAT
- XFS
- unformatted
Trying to go with Automatic or Custom shows error
“nvme1n1 may not have enough space for grub2 to embed core.img when using the ext4 file system on partition”

And how do I not do that? :HAhaa:
Depends on your hardware ™️
Just went through BIOS -> Boot menu -> Ventoy
Usually an option in your BIOS that has the word ‘EFI’ or ‘UEFI’ somewhere
Found Boot/CSM
Try disabling CSM or choosing UEFI only
I’m guessing set Launch CSM to False?
I assume so yes
Do you have another OS installed currently?
Ye, windows
Disabling CSM may prevent windows from booting, just in case
I assume I’m safe to turn CSM on after I’m done installing?
I would believe so
Okay, yep. That solved it. Can see EFI now
I don’t have any CSM setup so there could be some factors I’m missing here
Thanks a lot :OtterHugs:
I seem to have CSM turned on by default for some reason, so hopefully won’t be a problem if I need it back on
I’ll leave the thread open for now, and update it after I’ve turned CSM back on and see what happens
I would personally suggest turning it off if both OSes are working
Since CSM is generally legacy booting
Okay, all set up. Bazzite is installed, Windows boots fine without CSM. At first it went into recovery mode, but just rebooting it once fixed the issue.
Thanks a ton for the help. Now it's off to checking out Bazzite and what it offers
