Bazzite will freeze during boot when no monitor is connected?
I'm using Bazzite on a computer with a long HDMI cable connected and it works great, but when the HDMI is disconnected and I reboot the PC then it will freeze.
Is this a known issue and are there any workarounds?

gamescope i think does not like not having a screen connected when you boot
it seems to hang the entire boot process and even the network is unreachable
gamescope or rather gamemode is extremely picky
it needs hardware acceleration and the gpu is not active without a screen attached
same goes on desktop mode except it will at least boot but you wont have a desktop until a screen is attached
gamemode instead goes, "I NEED A GPU AND THERE IS NO SCREEN! WHAT DO I DO!!! ☠️ " and then dies and crashes the whole system
ok, thanks a lot for the info and help
yeah not much we can do about it when it comes to gamemode
if you were on desktop only i could at least recommend a dummy dongle to get around the issue but that wont work for gamemode unless you run the machine 100% headless
no problem ... i was hoping it wouldn't freeze the machine and it could be reset (ie. gamescope) over ssh or similar
rebooting fixes it but it's a longer process
yeah sadly gamescope as a session is very picky about anything graphical related
