I am getting 8. 2 chiral carbon. For asymmetrical structures: 4 isomers. 2 geometrical isomer showing double bonds: 4 isomers. 4+4=8 my mistake. 16 would be the answer

ig it could be done like this

it is not symmetrical compound cyclohexane exists in non planar form. also we can say there are many sp³ carbon, making it non planar and no symmetry of plane would exist.

i used formulas given by ns sir and it indeed gave 10 this came in my test and am not aware of the correct ans as of now it doesnt have pos but it is symmetrical (ie same naming from both the ends)

so there are total 10 unique stereomers out of which two are optically inactive ( cis R S cis and trans S R trans ) and rest are optically active

Could you plz elaborate that y it's not symm? Is the method I solved with, correct? @hardcoreisdead @Prachi @S2_zBro#8929

Yup, that's the method most use But if we wanna understand why it's 10 then we can see what @hardcoreisdead has shared
Say_miracle_shadow
Okay, thank you @Prachi
