Error encountered installing Bazzite on Legion Go
I have a fresh SSD on my Legion Go, I booted from USB to install Bazzite, it gets half way through the installation process, then I see this. I've tried two times with the same results

Getting around the "Code 1" error in Bazzite and other Atomic Deskt...
In this guide we'll be removing the invalid fedora entry in the efi partition to get Bazzite and other atomic desktops to install after attempting to reinstall them. (fixed the audio)
Edit: Note that you might also get this error if you previously installed Fedora workstation or Nobara and you have kept your existing efi partition on the disk.
...
Ok, trying now! Thank you
Same issue but may be due to my ignorance
I don't have a Fedora directory like this guy did in the video when I go into EFI directory
I just have a Lenovo folder
I didn't delete that because I didn't want to accidentally break anything. Was it expected for me to delete that?
err, that I don't know
maybe @wolfyreload has some insights
Here's the mount btw

What works for quite a few people is using manual partitioning, then whatever is in the EFI folder doesn't matter because you making a new EFI partition
Oooh ok! Thanks, I will try that now
Oh yeah the custom partition screen was super helpful.
At first, I tried automatic partition there which failed as expected.
I was able to use that screen to delete everything existing.
After, I selected automatic partition and everything now worked as expected.
Install is running now π€
Oh I thought you were doing a dual-boot π
. yeah then you don't need to do any custom partitioning. Good luck hope it installs
No sorry for the confusion!
Oh crap it failed again π
Same issue
It failed with no partitions this time??
Yeah let me get you guys some better screen caps, sorry I know it's not helpful with so little info
Maybe boot into live USB (I usually use Linux Mint) remove all the partitions in gparted and try the install again.
Actions taken from left to right

Ok I'll try this soon, but will probably be delayed because I'm supposed to be working π we actually have an app release today π
Essentially
Custom partition
Delete everything
Automatic partition
Ah try this. Leave it on automatic. It gives you an option underneath that you need to tick to delete existing partitions. Then select remove all and just let it do automatic partitions, don't select the custom option at all
I think I tried this but let me get you screen caps to make sure it's 1:1 with what you are thinking
This option, where you get to remove the partitions

Install is running rn

That's it
Lets see what happens. If you get the code 1 error then I have no idea
I hope this works but I think this is what I was initially doing π₯²
Oh fuck haha
Well actually if that fails, we can try the live USB of Mint and remove the partitions there.
Worst case scenario is you use cloud recovery and you end up with Windows for a while
Oh yeah I haven't set up anything on this yet so it's NBD!
This is my initial configuration
Damn, yeah it just bailed with exit code 1
I need to get back to work, I'll check back in later with an update!
If you press CTRL+ALT+F1, F2 etc, one of the screens shows more detailed logs. Might be able to see something useful in the logs
Anyway, can try more later. Good luck with your app release
Thank you! It's been kind of a shit show so far, dependent APIs for deployment down in PROD looool
Perfect, thanks, I was wondering about this
This is crazy, at this point I am at a loss too.
So I made a bootable USB drive with Mint, went into drive manager and completely wiped the drive of everything.
I restarted, booted into my Bazzite USB, everything looks perfect. My drive is showing 100% free.
I go through the default setup (aside user config) and I still get an exit code 1.
The one weird thing I've noticed is it seems like this EFI folder keeps getting created, and I see this second screen after failed installs. It almost seems like Lenovo firmware is mucking up the drive with this EFI partition each time before an install. I also see this screen in the second pic I never see in any YouTube tutorials.

My only last debugging idea is I'm going to boot into mint again, wipe the drive, go back to my bootable Bazzite, then confirm in terminal that EFI is empty and try once more
After that, my only other idea is to just get a new USB drive
I'll check back in later tonight π«‘
Weird, if you wipe the drive in mint there shouldn't be an efi partition at all on the disk. Drive should be 100% empty
