Are there any rules for matching tie color to your jacket/shirt pants?
Or is it just what looks good? It's going to be my first interview season in menswear. My default outfit is a navy herringbone blazer with steel blue pants. I have shirts in white, blue, and grey. Might have a charcoal blazer if the tailor can do something with it (it was a cheap sale rack thing), and I have pants in a couple other colors. Don't know if there's any specific rules I should know for what ties I should wear with what or if it's just wear something that looks like it matches.

largely "what looks good" (or black) but pics of the outfit would help if you had questions on specific ties
it's currently in the tailor's hands but here's what I got for pics. There's a grey tie floating around here somewhere too. I was thinking maybe either the maroon stripe one or the navy?

navy tie + white shirt seems like a safe interview bet
imo white shirt with either burgundy tie would be my pick just from the pics/info presented but in a vacuum i think anything but the yellow tie would be fine
yeah the yellow is the only one that stands out as a nah for me
sure. I'm hoping for more than one interview so, y'know
