Styling cropped pants

As someone who’s 6’1” and diving into Japanese fashion, I’ve noticed that many Japanese brands intentionally crop their pants. Are there any general styling tips or rules to keep in mind while easing into this style?

i think it helps to have a clear idea of what you want the overall fit to be to account for any changes you may have to make based on your inseam (i.e. wearing pants lower/higher on your waist, cuffing, etc.). there's no real "rules" other than having a pant-shoe interaction that makes the crop looks intentional (otherwise just wear regular length pants).

my attempts to figure this out are documented here; i personally find it best to define the extra space between hem and shoe but ymmv https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1300496845612515378

cirque, Billiam and Joel (De La Joel) all wear cropped pants of varying width; BlueEyes does as well though they tend to be narrower

You have to match the proportions with your top half to keep from looking unbalanced Or pair them with a tall boot or sneaker to kind of make up the difference Once you get the hang though they're very versatile
