I have no idea why bazzite is in emergency mode
2 days ago I tried to use testdisk to fix my windows repair but that was a terrible idea because it didn't do anything and it completely broke grub too. i then had to use dmde to try and fix it and I got grub back but every time i boot itll go to rootless emergency mode. I checked my fstab and everything matches but it still doesn't want to boot and when I use mount -a it throws an error about /home that I just cannot find in dmsg but it solves itself anyways when I run it again

also for the bootlogs I recorded the screen it says /home fails to mount but it says /var/home mounts a few seconds later and when I to do systemctl start home.mount it says it fails because of "dependency"
also is there a way to get out of emergency boot without rebooting
You're in emergency mode because the system can't boot, there is no way to exit emergency mode without fixing the system
Given what you've done to your discs, it could be any number of things, including issues with your partitions or a wiped EFI partition because Windows ate it when you did the recovery
Fixing this is going to be extremely difficult
And we are going to need every log that you can give us in full detail
heres all i can find
the weirdest thing I'd fdisk and blkid showing me different uuids but idk which one would be the correct one
is there any way just to reset grub? I tried using os prober but that didn't work
okay i took another look at it and i spotted the part that seems to be trouble
Mount path /home is not canonical (contains a symlink).
and when i search it up i get this post basically with my troubles https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/home-fails-to-mount-not-canonical-btrfs-filesystem-bazzite-rpm-ostree/116030?replies_to_post_number=2

Home fails to mount 'not canonical' - btrfs filesystem | Bazzite | ...
Hi, Please help me debug this issue. I have a fresh Bazzite install that is failing to boot and dropping into emergency mode. It appears to be a problem with mounting the Home directory but I cannot for the life of me work out the issue and cannot find any reference to it on Google at all. Error: (1)(deck@steamdeck 01)$ sudo journalctl --fi...
same os and everything but since its the same os they were told to talk to you guys
/home should be a symlink
it's /var/home canonically
not your issue
damn then idk
because /var/home mounts fine
so does /boot and /boot/efi
and /var and /sysroot
should I just start over? what's the best way to reinstall without losing my stuff or should I just copy my home folder
oh https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/understanding-btrfs-to-reinstall-without-losing-data/77242 seems painless, just keep var and var/home and it should be fine right?

Understanding btrfs to reinstall without losing data
I need to reinstall Fedora 36 because my graphics have become kaput. I can log into a text interface, but neither Nvidia nor Nouveau will provide any images. I have read How to Reinstall (Clean Install) Fedora 34 without losing data (/home)? - #9 by dhvlktry, but I do not see how to do what is recommended. If I delete root, /home also disappea...
lol not even working with a reinstall, maybe the home is bugged? idk
okay I figured out something, idk if it's a bug or something else but I cannot use the home subvolume. it booted when I didn't have it like I re-added it to my fstab to /var/home and it stopped working
did a final test, made a new home subvolume (didn't delete the old one) and that didn't work. guessing this PC just hates bazzite, could be just Linux acting up or something though but idk. guessing how this thread is just nothing but ramblings from someone driven insane by this I guess you don't know wtf is this problem either (no offence) I use bazzite on my deck and laptop but maybe this is God forcing me to use windows as punishment for my sins
tried plain silverblue didn't work of course
fuck this I think the only way to fix this is by taking out everything and starting fresh but like I do not give enough of a fuck to do that, copying some of my shit from my home folder to windows nuking it and stretching it, just gonna use wsl2 instead for my Linux apps. def my fault and the fault of fedora sliverblue still being like a newish enough thing so stuff like this happens
maybe it does this with normal feodra or any Linux? idk man I stopped caring so bad
