Good brands for Oxford shoes

I've been upgrading my shoe collection slowly, and it's finally time to replace my crummy department store black dress shoes. My brown Johnston and Murphy's are pretty good, although I bought them years ago and the explorative part of my brain is always wondering if there are better options out there. I'm looking for a pair of classic cap toe Oxfords, my first set will be black and I'll probably get some burgundy ones as well if I like the brand. My budget is $150-300 per pair, and I'm fine with buying online, though I'm in the greater Philadelphia area if there are any local recommendations. I would really appreciate the help!

Meermin are about $200 and about as cheap as "quality" shoes get if that's what you're looking for and will wear them a lot. Leather can be a bit stiff and sizing is tricky, but unfortunately I think the only physical location is in NYC.

Thanks for the reply! Traveling to NYC for specific stores is nothing new to me, so I'll put this brand on the list to check out next time I'm there.

Not sure whether you can find them or get them shipped to Philadelphia but here is a couple of generally good value-for-money brands I would suggest within this price range: Meermin, Velasca, Orban's, Malfroid, Septieme largeur.
