What's unique or cheaper in Florence?
I have a friend visiting Florence soon and they're offering to get shop some stuff for me. Any specific recommendations on RTW and accessories that I can't just get online or is significantly cheaper?

Very little. Italy is well integrated into the global marketplace now and all the good/reputable stuff is largely available. Slightly different if you're visiting yourself as there's retailers worth seeing/visiting. Maybe fragrance from Santa Maria novella?
A bit off topic but if you eat meat I can recommend to try Fiorentina steak
Ah sorry it’s your friend nvm :xd:
Agreed. I lived there for a few years. SMN fragrances and potpourri are def worth it (albeit available online). The leather market is a little overblown unless you're really looking for something specific to commemorate being there. When I go to Italy I also tend to bring home fresh winter truffles and dried porcini mushrooms since they are harder to find or more expensive in the US.
If your friend hasnt made all their dinner plans yet, I highly recommend Gurdulù which has a great very inexpensive tasting menu and then going to get gelato at La Sorbettiera next to Piazza Santo Spirito
The best thing I ate there was an incredible pate, so tell your friend to do that
