Intermittent Crashes related to Blueprints
So I am looking for help as I am getting tired of rebuilding blueprints.
I am playing a single player mod playthrough and am building blueprints to help with scale. For some reason the blueprints I create work and then sometimes randomly later when I try to use the same one again it will immediately crash the game when I place it down. Other times its fine until I try to dismantle the blueprint or a part of one. Today I encountered a new crash where I tried to change the recipe and it would crash when I opened the machine screen on a machine inside the BP maker.
Originally I was using the Universal Color Swatch mod to color machines in blueprints. Noticed pretty quickly that sometimes they would load but some buildables would not have colors applied and instead be all black. A few seconds to a minute later game crashed. Removed all this and it seemed fine.
Now later I am having new issues with crashing. To save time I reuse blueprints, opening one editing and then saving it as a new name. Seems logical right, well today I think I stumbled upon a possible root cause of it not liking this because every time I did this the new BP worked and the original one would cause the game to crash when placed or loaded. In order to move forward I delete the bad BP and rebuild it, save it and it seemed to work fine.
Next thing I know I loaded up the game and started placing some BPs down, a few minutes later the game crashed. Not sure what could have happened I loaded up again, this time when I looked at my BPs two of them had been moved from their organized category and subcategory to the Uncategorized section. This along with the resaving as a new name issue makes me feel like something is causing blueprints to be corrupted or they aren't being found in some sort of directory where they should be.
Currently the only two mods being used in blueprints are the daisy chain one for power and the Advanced Logistics for adjustable splitters and mergers. No clue what to do.

Dev released an update on another post and this has now been resolved. It was related to the Advanced Logistics mod after all.

So I just noticed a new detail.
When loading the game all my color swatches are fine but after placing a blueprint sometimes a bunch of them, almost all, change to all black and if I build anything shortly after the game crashes. So somehow the BP being placed is causing the color swatches to bug out? I completely removed Universal Color Swatches and now the only thing in there that isn't default is something called KMods which I think is some sort of background mod module that came with the mod I use called All Fluids Are Gases. Looking deeper into this and trying further testing. I wish there was some way to understand some of these logs so I could have some direction as to what exactly is the issue so maybe someone here can help. Otherwise I'll just keep stabbing in the dark.
This is definitely a lead. Each time I build a blueprint I can look at the Customizer menu and if almost everything is black I know the game is about to crash if it hasn't already. I'll try disabling the fluids are gases and see if that does anything.
Ok so turning that off didn't do anything. When I place certain blueprints the color swatches in the system still turn all black and then crash a few seconds later. Not sure if this is something to do with the root cause or just a symptom of the blueprints being corrupted somehow. Another interesting item is that BPs don't cause this behavior if I build with them after creating them in the same loaded game. As soon as a save and reload the game, then they become corrupted and cause issues. This explains why it seems so intermittent because if I rebuild the exact same BP with the same mods in use and everything it seems to work and I build what I want and move on, then when I try to use the BP later I find out its a problem because I closed the game and came back to it.
Adjustable splitters and mergers, have you set the ratios in the BP while it was in the designer?
I do yes. Is that some sort of known issue I haven't come across?
I probably have 30 BPs that all work this way and work fine except for this infrequent issue.
It’s a bug i diagnosed ages ago, dev is going to look into it. All I can say is for now do not do the ratios while in the bp designer, wait until after you have placed the bp into the world.
Bummer but thank you for figuring this out. I am placing down hundreds of machines with the BPs so having to manually go to multiple splitters/combiners per machine after placing the blueprint blows haha.
