System corrupt Japanese files
I cannot seem to figure out how to add Japanese to be displayed correctly, it comes out as weird letters and squares, I added the language in the system settings page, but it doesn't seem to fix it, somehow google isn't helping me find the fix, been trying for hours.

Since I know the fonts are working now, and other games/VN's display, it turns out it was the unzipping with Ark that was causing the problem, using "unzip -O SHIFT_JIS RJ01317203.zip" has now solved the issue!

It seems the language is working, but this specific VN doesn't, as another one has readable text.
do you know what font the VN is trying to use?
I'm unsure how to figure that out, as the website wants me to do Japanese (Japan)
I'm not sure either. there's a chance that the game is looking for a specific font you don't have, and it wouldn't replace it with just any font
the Vn is called "DAGGER ファンディスク"
im unsure if firefox is using/displaying the same font on the website as the app is looking for
the website would probably be using a more general purpose font
not likely that it'll be the same as the game
the steps to run it in on windows is to set locale to japan, but im not sure if thats universal all fonts
since linux i have to install the font i think, not just change a setting?
is that from the game dev? if so, install that japanese language pack into the game prefix
it just tells me to go to windows clock and region, and set locale to japan

i think it corrupts the moment i press download, since the file in the zip is jibberish too
maybe try installing the
cjkfonts in winetricks
or manually go through the japanese ones in the list
use the "Install a Font" menuWould i need to redownload the file to see if it worked?

I'm talking about having fonts appear in a game
the downloaded files are in jibberish, so when a VN or game try to open, they give me an error
the winetricks for me doesnt seem to have a language option
you always have to click OK at that screen
