what style of coat do you like?
It’ll be difficult to get a new 100% wool coat for $300 so you’d either have to settle for some blends or shop new
Topcoat or overcoat
Will blends be fine durability wise? How much for full 100%?
Blends are probably fine
It’s just a perceived quality thing
I honestly thought at $300, 100% wool would be an option, are they upwards of $500?
Probably on the upper limit is all, there are options though if you buy used or wait for sales
blends are fine but you want a high wool %
def no less than 80%, and closer to 100% is good
5-10% nylon can help with durability

Are wool alpaca blends superior or inferior to 100% wool
In principle softer, warmer and less durable but it's not really that simple.
Why less durable? Is alpaca that much more delicate?
Yes, but the spinning, yarn and weave can make a huge difference to how that plays out practically.

Should I get a tweed/donegal? Would they be less versatile than a camel or black
