Best shoes to match Levi’s 501?
I know every shoe goes well with jeans for the most part, but I want specific advice.
I dont have full body pics yet with the jacket but I bought a Barbour Beaufort and Im struggling to find a balance between looking serious while also being somewhat casual. I try to use sweatshirts as an intermediate to find balance, alongside Levis 501 so I dont look too serious.
However, the shoes completely throw everything off the window. I use white New Balance 550 (attached to the post) for the most part, which I feel looks a little too childish with the jacket I’m using most of the time.
What shoes would be a good middle ground? Can be any budget, I’ve been looking at Birkenstock Highwood Lace Low but Im not sure.
Also accept tips on sweatshirts and stuff, feel a little bit lost with my style right now.

Post the full pic when you can because that sounds like a very normal and not at all childish combination
Here’s me wearing 550s with a barbour
Would work just as well with 501s
Maybe childish is too harsh, but I feel like I associate my sneakers now with more of a teenager type of style, so I want to find a good middle ground
Feel like the colors maybe play better, especifically the jeans, which makes the white sneakers go well. However with blue jeans I feel its a little bit harder, or maybe its just me
hang on
barbour jeans white sneakers
boots or loafers are real casual and easy with jeans, maybe you just need a break from sneakers for a bit
When I pair my Barbour and jeans I like to use lug soled boat shoes, makes it a little more casual than loafers.
I guess this might be it tbh
Not quite my style but I dont want something similar, hence the reference to the Birkenstock because those are somewhat similar (at least in my eyes although they probably arent for everyone else)
either boots or a substantial leather shoe like a derby or tyrolean would slot in well imo (not necessarily paraboots but they come up a lot)
depends on the fit and length of the jeans. If the jeans are not wide enough, bulky shoes like New Balance 550 might look off
