Heavy stutter and fps drops in some games after ~30 min.

Hi all, Hoping to get some help with a weird issue that only starts happening after around 30-ish mins of playing some games - notably PoE2 and OverWatch2. Other games - world of warcraft for example - can be played for hours without problem. All games will launch and run fine initially, however after around 30 mins of active gaming, something happens and immediate fps drops and frame stutter start happening. The only way to resolve is to close the game and relaunch, which basically just resets the timer for these issues to start happening again. Interestingly, in PoE2, when i leave the game to go AFK, i can come back even after hours to no issues; the problem seems to happen only with "active" gameplay. It feels like cache or something reaches its limit after a certain amount of time and once it's full it just grinds everything to an unplayable mess. System: 9800x3d gtx1080 64gb ram Attachment 1 is of the PoE2 performance graph when things are working fine. Attachment 2 is when things start to break (the 55 fps its showing is a lie; standing still somewhat alleviates the issue, but any character movement is <10) I've tried some launch commands to prevent shader cleanup without success as i've heard this might be a shader caching issue. Thanks in advance for any help anyone reading this can provide.

thanks Matt~ that link had both a lot of info to help understand the issue as well as a solution for those searching this in the future that just want a solution, add LD_PRELOAD="" %COMMAND% as a launch command for impacted games
