Asus Prime B550M-A Wifi card bad compatability

I've diagnosed my Wi-Fi issue to being specific to the Asus B550's Wi-Fi card or the included antenna. Would really appreciate some guidance before I go buying anything. Issue: high ping jitter and download latency.

Wonder if your issue is the power_save setting too. https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1332583335851200573 Have a look at this thread. This helped on the Rog Ally Z1E but let's see if it makes a difference for you too

ASUS Prime B550M-A WIFI II motherboard Bluetooth has also stopped working Am I supposed to download any drivers or do any additional work for this Update: Rogers ignite internet seems to be the culprit Update: the included antenna with the Asus motherboard also seems to be shitting Update: A new antenna did not change the ping results. USB tethering improves and stabilizes ping. Drivers are all up to date and active. This is a comparability issue between bazzite and the MediaTek WiFi module.

Try disabling the wifi powersave feature in Network manager https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/issues_and_resolutions/#lag-spikes-on-the-rog-ally-z1e this made a HUGE difference on my ROG Ally and it also made a small difference on my Laptop running Bazzite.

Please tell me that was not a prank Update: fixed the above issue, and following @wolfyreload's suggested commands, my Wi-Fi ping is now also fixed. But I have to ask why this power save feature is enabled and does it affect most or all WiFi cards? Mark as solved after somebody answers this^ Devina is still whining about buffer bloat.

Not sure why power save feature is on by default. I suspect it's a feature that is enabled by default from Fedora. No idea what devices it affects. But so far it has improved the internet on my ally and laptop by disabling it. I haven't heard of the term buffer bloat before. So I can't help you with that sorry
