to be exact, they ask find % ionic char which is uobs/ucalc and they give observed as 1.2D and bond length to be 1A how do u find the calc mu

uh but they have asked this imy coaching
the dipole moment of AB molecule is given by 1.2 D and A - B the bond length is 1Å then
% ionic character of the bond is
probably in advanced syllabus, idk
calculated dipole moment would be
charge * distance
, same as physics formula
the distance is given as bond length
for the charge
i guess since its A(+) and B(-)
the positive charge is e
and the negative charge is also e
so use e
for the chargethey multiply with 4.8 x 10^-10 esu
what is that number
esu is how many joules?
or coulombs, i mean?
its a unit of charge
yes
3.33 x 10^-
uhh
10
yes
C
they've just converted
e
from 1.6 * 10^(-19) coulombs to its esu valueohhh
wait
Nimboi, how did JEE go?
yess ah got it
oh right he had it yest
how was it
Ye
pretty shit, actually
somehow went worse than my lowest expectations
whatever
dangg s1?
april attempt also there
i heard it was hard
yeah
yeah but i managed it pretty badly
math especially
i could've done much better
hmm well gl for april 💯
