Versatile Outerwear Recommendations?
Looking for versatile outerwear inspiration. I have been slowly developing a basic wardrobe but now that I’m looking at outerwear I’m getting overwhelmed with the variety of options.
I’m pretty set on a heavy topcoat/peacoat for the colder months but I don’t spend a ton of time outside if it’s too cold. Any recommendations on styles you like to wear during mild winter days/spring/fall ? I live in Colorado.
Ideally versatile pieces since I’m not entirely sure of what my wardrobe will end up looking like as I continue to add things but don’t mind branching out with cheaper items/things that hold some resale
value.
Would like to stay below $200 per item. Open to shop secondhand.

as you said there's a lot of options out there (chore coats, denim jackets, truckers, bomber jackets, etc etc etc)
and versatility is easier to come by than you may expect (unless you're doing something like getting one of the assassin's creed hoodies lol)
it might help to funnel down what kinds of things you like or dislike - check in #waywt or #inspiration or on ig/pinterest to see what kind of things are out there that you think are appealing, and then it'll be easier to find something in your budget
Thank you 🙌
Do you have any styles/items you particularly enjoy? Doesn’t have to be hyper specific/themed just a vague vibe
I’m liking the looks of Americana/Workwear. I’m open to explore but don’t see myself getting into Ivy/Preppy territory for now
Sherpa jacket would definitely be a strong recommendation. Take a look on pinterest for americana stuff and there might be some western stuff that sticks out too
Sherpa Jacket and Peacoat maybe things to look at.
a trucker jacket might be good for spring/fall, especially since it can be layered with flannel shirts or sweaters or underneath other jackets when colder
Excuse my ignorance as I look at both. Is the only difference that the Sherpa has lining or am I missing something ?
basically - some trucker jackets do not have the sherpa lining and are better for warmer temperatures or layering
