Sneakers recs
Hi, it's been a few years since I bought sneakers, but I have, unfortunately, not used that time to learn about them. (You should assume I barely know what an Air Force 1 looks like.) And so, I was wondering if anyone has a favorite sneaker that they would like to recommend. I generally prefer a thin sole, a lot of textural interest, high top, and less recognizable branding (these aren't requirements/happy to take a look at what you got). I'm color agnostic. I'll include a couple pictures of how I wear both my pairs of current sneakers, as well as some of my favorites so far. Ideally, I'm looking for something less than $150 new or used. Thanks π

My white sneakers are more clear here
Personal favs from L to R:
Vans Old Skool Style 36
Converse 70 low
New Balance 998
Vans Era
Jordan 1 'Black Toe'
Salomon S/Lab XT-4
Vans Sk8-Hi
Norda 003
Asics Gel Terrain
that mexico 66 color way is really great
Thanks so much for all of these! I definitely like the Salomons the most, I'd say.
I'm leaning toward the Novestas at the moment, just because the price is so good. I think, if the Flower Mountains were cheapers, and the sole were less busy, that would be my ideal shoe.
You bet. I feel like theyβre starting to fall out of favor, so you can find em for much more reasonable prices than in years past, but I have no data to really back that up π
Lol sounds about right. I have a real talent for gravitating toward things falling out of favor:xdcrying: . I'll take a look around. I think I'd really love to find some with a "flatter" sole. (Hopefully that makes sense. I really do know nothing about sneakers.)
I feel like Saucony Shadow, ASICS Gel Lyte V, and several diadora models are similar to the Karhu/Flower Mountains you posted as alternative options. For the Novesta & Mexico 66, just get those if you like them.
