this isn’t a val problem but plz help

i have a gpu and my motherboard hdmi’s aren’t working
Solution:
Motherboard doesn’t do graphics since you have a gpu, it’s hdmi ports don’t work for graphic displays, because integrated graphics is off. Your only option is to get a gpu with more hdmi ports, or get an adapter (USB-c to hdmi, USB-a to hdmi, etc). If your GPU has a VGA or DP connection, you can also do that....

my GPU has a DP can i use that? hdmi to display port ohhh okie

If your monitor supports that, sure (or you can use DP to HDMI although it’s worse) Or just DP to DP

i’m gonna get an hdmi to dp ty

Check your monitor first. Most monitors have HDMI & another port type like VGA or DP Motherboard HDMI ports are for integrated graphics. If I recall correctly, if you have a separate GPU, your computer won’t run with integrated graphics although you might be able to enable it, it’ll use your GPU, so motherboard hdmi won’t work.

all i have is hdmi wait so if someone doesn’t have a gpu they’re just fucked? like you can’t use a monitor if you don’t have a gpu?
Nix (festive edition)
No. You use your motherboard. The motherboard HDMI ports are for integrated graphics, graphics installed on cpu iirc. GPU overrides that.

IDKKK 😭😭😭 i’m so lost pcs are so complicatedddd

…you have a display port. Just use that, no? But if you’re going to go through the trouble of getting DP to HDMI …just buy a DisplayPort cable. (Granted I’m assuming your monitor supports DP, if it doesn’t, buying DP to hdmi is valid, although it’ll be a bit worse iirc)

does ur gpu have hdmi?

… Reading the thread before trying to help truly must be difficult. Then yeah get DP to HDMI and you’ll be fine.
