I have...
1. :blue_square: verified I'm on the latest release(note that mobile app releases may take some time).
2. :blue_square: read applicable release notes.
3. :blue_square: reviewed the FAQs for known issues.
4. :blue_square: reviewed Github for known issues.
5. :blue_square: tried accessing Immich via local ip (without a custom reverse proxy).
6. :blue_square: uploaded the relevant information (see below).
7. :blue_square: tried an incognito window, disabled extensions, cleared mobile app cache, logged out and back in, different browsers, etc. as applicable

You cannot properly, since using the cloudflare proxy imposes a 100MB upload limit per file
Also, if you still want to use it the answer would be, setup cloudflare tunnel according to their docs
This isn’t really something immich specific
so I won't be able to view photos and videos remotely?
You won't be able to upload larger files, e.g. longer videos
*remotely
okay, but will uploading files on the local network to immich work normally?
Sure if you setup split address in the app, however it will still attempt to upload when not at home
Is this it?

No, that’s a guide someone wrote for immich. It might or might not work, hence we use an external link
If you don't have any experience are you sure setting up Immich as a first step into the self-hosting world is a good idea?
You're dealing with precious memories here
could you send me a link to a guide for cloudflare tunnel? I would be grateful
You should Google it mate
This is really not an immich related issue, this is networking topology stuff
Sure, I've already set it up for homeassistant. I can handle immich too, I just don't know where to start.
HAOS?
If so, that's trivial
okay, I'll try then..
but it will be in the immich documentation, right?
No… I feel like you don’t understand what cloudflare tunnel is
It’s just a cloud based reverse proxy. This is not in immich control at all
I meant that setting up home assistant OS is trivial, and no comparison to actually having to understand at least the docker basics. Plus having home assistant go down is annoying, but you're not losing your family's pictures
It’s up to you to setup their “agent” / connect it to whatever service you’d like to expose
of course, but I will have a backup on several external drives
