Recs for japanese selvedge denim jeans in a high waisted straight cut
Hey,
I'd like some brand and specific model recommendations for high waisted straight cut jeans.
I'd like them to be a dark indigo blue, kind of a looser fit straight cut if that makes sense, but I wouldn't like it to be wide wide like current trends (I have lots of other wide pants).
I'd like them to be high waisted so that I can wear them with military repros like the buzz rickson ma-1 and other cropped jackets and I just like high waisted better.
I'm fine with either unsanforized or one wash denim, but in case of unsanforized I'd like some sizing advice too.
Price isn't super important, I can just save up, but it doesn't have to be expensive. Let's say around 500 eur max, but it's not a hard upper limit and I'd gladly get something cool for like 200 eur too if that makes more sense.
I'm located in Europe, so anything that's available here without vat and taxes would be a huge plus, but I'll be going to Japan at the end of the year. Wish UK retailers still fit this description, it would've made things easier.
I don't have experience with raw or high quality selvedge denim, only had levis before. These would be my only pair of jeans.
I tried to do some research before and came up with brands like Warehouse & co, Sugar Cane, Momotaro and Oni, but I have a hard time with the models and europe availability.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations and tell me if I missed some info that'd be helpful.

Samurai S2000Hx are decently high rise and a straight cut
Oni 200/222 if you can find them
Studio D'Artisan SD-D01
TCB 30s (Currently sold out but they will restock at some point)
Sugar Cane 1947s
Fullcount 0105
Naked and Famous Strong Guy
All of Soup's recs are better tho as someone that owns the N&F
Great recommendations, going through googling each, thank you
TCB 50s too.
If in Europe a good store is Redcast Heritage in Spain. I believe their size charts are also very accurate in terms of measurements. All of the brands I listed would be available cheaper if you are completely sure about your size and aren't worried about returns by buying direct from Japan. Stores like Denimio & Bears Tokyo
Redcast Heritage is looking good for me, with vat and taxes plus shipping I usually pay a bit more than 40 percent plus on any japanese order so if it's available in europe it's rarely worth it.
Deminio is super helpful with sizing Qs too, they will measure the actual pair if you want before you order.
Awesome, lemme know if you want more recs for EU stores. I can link some more in a bit if you want
I think my favorites is the Oni 200 out of all of these (or the 222 is good too) but sadly out of stock
Managed to get a pair of Oni 200 from DC4 Berlin in my size. Thanks for the help guys, especially Soup 🙏
Oh nice, glad to be of help
Nevermind, payment declined twice :nooooo: . I guess they don't ship to my country or something, weird site.
You said you're EU right? Possible that your bank has auto-cancelled the payment because they decided it's a "strange" transaction for you to have made
Probably worth sending the site a message/email to ask if they ship to your country
Yep, that's what I did, thanks.
I've found these too, that I really like if it doesn't work out. Sizing non wash is a bit above my paygrade honestly, but I'm willing to give it a go and google a lot.
