Switching from Nobara 41 to Bazzite, wanna keep home folder and distroboxs - anything I should know?
I've backed up my KDE configuration with Konsave already,, mainly I'm concerned with transferring distroboxes to a new install and keeping my /home folder on the new install. Last time I tried doing so (moving from kubuntu to Nobara,) the previous home folder got moved to a subdirectory called
@home
- Is there anything I should do to prevent this when installing Bazzite, or was this a Nobara quirk of some sort?1 Reply
replacing the homefolder wholesale with an old one is never recommended (we have had enough issues with people who have done this and caused issues and crashes we cannot replicate)
youre best bet to just back it up and move back things you need.
for distroboxes they are meant to be replaceable so best practice is just nuke them and remake them (i personally give different distroboxes with different tasks different home directories to make them as separated as possible and easy to move the data from them that matters)
