Bazzite install Error - Failed to install flatpaks
This probably makes more sense under the question tag more than the bug tag as I don't know if my issue is a bug. Rather than writing out the error message it probably just makes more sense to include the pics I took of the error message (it's pretty legible).
This was last night while I was attempting to install Bazzite on my ROG Ally X. I guess to lay everything out, I purchased this Ally X yesterday. It was an "Excellent" graded open box unit from Best Buy. I would describe it as being in Like New condition and even tested a few games on it before attempting to install Bazzite just to make sure everything was in good working order.
Here's the guide I was using which is posted on the official Bazzite site: https://youtu.be/45P3hlvq8jk?si=yDnHRxS6fB6xVUH2
I downloaded the ROG Ally X Bazzite iso and pretty much followed that video to an exacting manner. The one area I diverged in was the amount of storage I was allocating to Bazzite. Most of my storage will be dedicated to Bazzite as I really don't intend yo use the Ally X as a Windows device (but currently want to keep it on the system for compatibility reasons). The USB stick I'm using was brand new and has only recently been used to install Windows 11 on my fairly new PC but I wiped it before imaging Bazzite to it.
Earlier yesterday while following the video I ran into a problem where I didn't realize the USB hub I had plugged into the Ally X wasn't powered enough to handle having both the USB stick with the Bazzite install and my keyboard plugged in at the same time. So, when I started the step where you exit the system bios into the process that launches you into the Bazzite install, the process seemingly failed the moment I plugged my keyboard into the USB hub. Something about a media failure check. I think while plugging the keyboard in I may have accidentally hit a key that caused it to choose "Test Media and install Bazzite"?
Not knowing how to proceed (and struggling to find information on the error) I forced a shutdown and launched back into windows. Worried files could've been corrupted somehow I reimaged the USB stick with the Bazzite iso and redid the steps until I got back to that point. I chose the option that says something like "Test media and install bazzite". The test ran, same issue. So, I restarted the process again but this time instead of "Test media and install bazzite" I chose "Install bazzite".
I resume the video where I left off. Eventually, I start the Bazzite install. Video says it takes about 15 minutes so I set a timer on my phone and go do something else. When I get back to the system I'm greeted with the error message I've attached images of here. After searching for awhile and not finding anything on this error I give up because it's late, select the Exit Installation button, the system reboots into Windows, I shut it down and then go to bed. I've not touched it this morning and was hoping this Discord channel could give me the help I'm looking for.
I assume this error and the error I had earlier during setup are probably related but I don't know what to take from either error. With the error that occurred during the Test Media thing, I assume my USB stick is said Media but I don't know what to take from that beyond that. Any thoughts or insight on what could be happening here and how to solve it would be greatly appreciated.

I do have another USB stick I could try, so I'll give that a go and try again
Please try comparing the checksum of the ISO you downloaded with the checksum that you can find on the Bazzite website. Also seeing that you have a keyboard available, you could try my video guide (it worked fine for my Rog Ally Z1E installation). I include the checksum compare part in the video guide. Hope it helps https://youtu.be/pbxM_1ZJCCc

How to dual-boot Windows 11 and Bazzite (new version)
Bazzite has changed quite a bit in the 10 months since I first used it. This is an updated version of my previous Bazzite dual boot guide.
Note: If you have an AZERTY layout for your keyboard, when you get to the MOK screen, you'll need to enter universqlblue rather than universalblue. Same goes for any other keyboard layout where the letters a...
Ooh I'll give that a look when I sit down with this later. Thanks. I'll report back
Sorry I've not had time to try your video. I did watch it but I haven't actually had a moment to apply what's in it just yet. I'll probably give it a go when I get off of work tomorrow
So, I was sitting down to do this when part way through I heard a chewing noise coming from my dog at my feet. I was confused as I hadn't given him anything to chew. So I flipped a light on to see he had chewed through the Ally X's charging cable. I was dumbfounded as in my 7 years of owning this dog he's done something like this maybe only one other time? Maybe.
So, since I don't have another 65w charger in the house I have to order one. Apparently Asus doesn't sell OEM ROG Ally chargers so I ordered this Anker 65w charger from Amazon:

It arrives Friday so that's when I'll resume the install attempt. I have ventoy and my iso ready.

😅 Oh that's a fun one. Yeah any 65w usb-c charger should do
