Are you saying the server itself doesn't allow IPv4 connections or do you mean these aren't routed to your computer? If you want to use IPv4 to connect to your computer from another network, you have to do some setup things

? how like the server wont run on IPv4 and only IPv6 my domain requires IPv4
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
What makes you think so?
switce
switceOP4w ago
see image
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
The image doesn't show anything except that the combination of IP and port is not reachable from whereever that checker is running Where are you running the server?
switce
switceOP4w ago
im running the server on my pc

port forward it

When you open Minecraft on your PC and try to connect to "127.0.0.1:25565", what happens?
switce
switceOP4w ago
puts me in the server

dan1st
dan1st4w ago
that means the server runs with IPv4 so port forwarding (or possibly your firewall) is the issue Do you have another device with Minecraft in the same network?
switce
switceOP4w ago
but when i use my public IPv4 it wont work but when i use my public IPv6 it works yes
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
As I said, probably port forwarding, firewall or using the wrong IP Can you connect to the server from that device using the private IPv4 address of the server?
switce
switceOP4w ago
yes
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
Does that thing also show an IP address? So that part works? then it's the port forwarding that doesn't work
switce
switceOP4w ago
private yes
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
I assume you entered your public IP there? and it is the private IP of the server, right?
switce
switceOP4w ago
no private
switce
switceOP4w ago

dan1st
dan1st4w ago
well that cannot work you need to enter your public IP in the IP checker the server isn't available from other networks by its private IP btw it's possible that someone else already port forwards port 25565 blocking you from doing that
switce
switceOP4w ago
wait no no i put my public in the tester
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
ok Can you test forwarding a different port to 25565? Ideally a random port for example 36736 idk just a random number nobody else would have picked
switce
switceOP4w ago
on my network?
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
no, in another network Like your ISP probably uses the same public IP for multiple networks/houses like maybe your neighbors or whatever have the same IP and also do port forwarding with that port (or have it configured)
switce
switceOP4w ago
so i change the server port and change the port forward port?
switce
switceOP4w ago
No description
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
either that or I think you might also be able to forward a different port to 25565

Are there options other than "Port-Range"?
switce
switceOP4w ago
remap and DMZ
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
I think remap could work as well but idk what exactly your ISP means with that DMZ is not a good idea, that's something else
switce
switceOP4w ago
i have DZS router

you'd definitely need TCP
switce
switceOP4w ago
yea im using tcp i just sent what remap and range want
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
What are the options with "NAT interface"?
switce
switceOP4w ago

dan1st
dan1st4w ago
yeah just try what you did before with different ports and also use the respective ports in the Minecraft server and the tester
switce
switceOP4w ago
also yesterday i used this parm and it worked
No description
switce
switceOP4w ago
diddint work today thats why im here
switce
switceOP4w ago
was able to use the domain
No description
switce
switceOP4w ago
and Ipv4 adress
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
that shouldn't really change anything
switce
switceOP4w ago
but it worked i want it to work its still in my command file
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
if it worked, it's not because of that option
switce
switceOP4w ago
it should work
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
well your Minecraft server does work and it is using IPv4
switce
switceOP4w ago
but i changed nothing 😭 I just shutdown the server next day it diddint work
switce
switceOP4w ago
not seeming to work
No description
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
Is that from another network?
switce
switceOP4w ago
my pc
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
in the same network?
switce
switceOP4w ago
yes
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
I assume you want to play with people outside your network on that server?
switce
switceOP4w ago
hosting the server here
No description
switce
switceOP4w ago
yes it worked yesterday and my domain worked yesterday
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
idk what you mean with your domain or how you configured it
switce
switceOP4w ago
it had my public ip type "A" i was able to join using a domain and IP
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
ah ok try connecting via the public IP directly if that doesn't work, the domain cannot work Can you check whether you still have the same public IP? like your ISP can change your IP whenever they want to
switce
switceOP4w ago
wait the domain is "AAAA"
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
AAAA is IPv6 IIRC A should be IPv4
switce
switceOP4w ago
No description
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
Try using the IP and not the domain if it doesn't work with the IP, it cannot work with the domain
switce
switceOP4w ago
public ipv4 hangs
No description
switce
switceOP4w ago
ipv6 doesnt work domain doesnt work
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
Which port are you forwarding now?
switce
switceOP4w ago

dan1st
dan1st4w ago
Did you enter <your IP>:36736 in Minecraft? for the server address?
switce
switceOP4w ago
public?
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
first try private if it works, continue with the public IP
switce
switceOP4w ago
public hangs
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
private IP works I guess?
switce
switceOP4w ago
No description
switce
switceOP4w ago
why is my ip 0.0.0.0 private works public no
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
Where does it show that? it isn't
switce
switceOP4w ago
setting fixed it
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
0.0.0.0 is often use a placeholder for "no IP" or similar e.g. in DHCP when you don't have an IP yet but want to request one, you use 0.0.0.0 and 0.0.0.0 is also used for "all IPs"
switce
switceOP4w ago
uhmh i guess now il pay gazillions to other hosters should close this because im not progressing made it worse
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
you can probably just make it work somehow
switce
switceOP4w ago
i keep making it worse
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
you might want to check whether - the private IP of the server actually matches the IP shown in the port forwarding - the port is the same in the server config (you probably need to restart the server after changes to that), the port forwarding settings and in the Minecraft server list/where you entered the server address (after the :) - your firewall allows that port - the IP you are connecting to is actually your public IP (maybe your ISP changed that)
switce
switceOP4w ago
i have no firewall ip matchs reset the server
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
Windows has a firewall by default
switce
switceOP4w ago
who said im on windows

dan1st4w ago
oh right
switce
switceOP4w ago
so?
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
As I said, the problem is probably just the port forwarding thing if you use the different port, you need to specify that in the server address
switce
switceOP4w ago
but how ??
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
you can also just switch back to the old port
switce
switceOP4w ago
worked perfect yesterday
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
idk about port forwarding idk, ask your ISP
switce
switceOP4w ago
i cant use ngrok because i used all my data
No description
dan1st
dan1st4w ago
if you want to go back to the version from before that worked more or less, you'd probably need to set the port back to 25565 everywhere oh and another thing you could try is restarting your router - but note that this might give you a new public and/or private IP
switce
switceOP4w ago
i honestly wanted to host a server on my own because i hate paying but its too much for my 8.23 iq brain closing this
