advice: magnum torch vs. torchmaster? (forge 1.20.1)
kinda vague question, but which one tends to be better for performance?
i like the customization of magnum torches better, but want to go with w/e is easier on the server. we're not having performance issues at the moment, but i wanna make sure i'm using best options!
from what i can tell, i think magnum torch runs checks with every single potential entity spawn to see if it's near a torch and what the settings are, even when none of the torches are actively loaded
idk how torchmaster works

anyone know if it would break anything for me to remove the magnum torch mod from the world, if i do end up doing that?

So yeah from the looks of magnum torch listens for all entity spawns, torch master has individual mixins for each spawn event
generally they should be similar but tbh would go with torch master

and do you know if it will mess things up to remove magnum from an existing world?
Honestly, set up a dev server locally, put magnum on, then remove it and put torch master on
see if anything breaks
my computer unfortunately can't handle the server pack
unsure how it will behave because the old torches won’t be a valid block when you move

I'm also muddling through 'in control' configs to change overall mobcaps for hostile and passive mobs because servercore mobcaps somehow resulted in 700 zombified piglins with 3 people online @_@
