Cursor not moving on desktop mode
I decided to set up a dual boot on my ROG Ally X today and got everything set up and working well but after a few hours the old armory crate button no longer really works for switching to cursor mode when in desktop mode. Instead it allows for movement for roughly half a second after being pressed then stops responding again. Other than that everything else is working and looking absolutely amazing!

using KDE
Drop a bug report from handheld Daemon and reboot
Means the controller thread is crashing
I dont mean to sound dumb but what does the first bit mean? I have tried to reboot the device to no avail tho
HHD is the purple sidebar where you chan change the controller type, tdp and other things for your device
opened by double tapping the QAM button (right menu button when youre in gamemode)
https://paste.centos.org/view/a7909b0d
I'm a bit slow but I got there in the end
Looks fine to me
weird, I'm still getting the issue. would a video help at all?
its hard to show but its just a very short amount of time that I can move the cursor after hitting the button and its not every time that it works it feels
In the log you sent I can't see that
want me to send over a fresh one?
What mouse mode are you referring to
Steams?
in bazzite on the rog ally x when you're in desktop mode and one tap the armory crate button its supposed to enable the right joystick to move the cursor
Is the armoury crate the left or right button
right bottom on the ally
I did not see any crashes
When it vibrates twice it's in mouse mode
Once gamepad
If every time you press it it vibrates twice
i haven't gotten it to vibrate before
Then it crashes inbetween
its always just kinda done it without vibrating
Solution
You need to hold it
REALLY?
OH MY GOD
I am so sorry for wasting your time
Im such a dumbass lol
If you want the steam one
Swap the rog buttkns
Then hold select as you would on a steam deck
what do you mean by swap the rog buttons?
setting in hhd
it swaps start and select with the rog buttons since the rog buttons can not be held to work as a steam chord
so like put it as the top button instead of the bottom one like it is now? sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions I just want to make sure I got this correct
yep
essentially the rog buttons will function as start/select (the switch to desktop controls button does not move, its a firmware thing)
while the start/select buttons will work as the STEAM and QAM button
means you can hold down the physical start or select buttons to use steam chords like the minimal desktop control scheme which is available while holding down the steam/guide button on any other controller (which on most controllers will also turn off the controller sadly if its an external controller)
I think I got it now
thank you guys a lot for the help here
