what differentiates brands like acne studios from supposedly good denim brands like iron heart or other selvedge denim brands? can you tell me other brands like acne studios which don’t cost a kidney per pair of jeans, i like the baggy aesthetic but not the price tag

Ebay If you want new and cheap you could look at Weekday, BDG (urban outfitters) or Zara

i’m looking for something good quality above all, but i’m not sure if the relaxed fit that the regular brands offer is baggy enough to get the vibe i’m looking for ill look at ebay, but are there any other premium brands/good quality stuff you can recommend (for baggy jeans specifically)?

How much does a kidney cost? (You should give a budget to help with brand recs)

To actually answer your first question: brands like acne studios focus more on design than on fabric / construction / authenticity of reproductions. While a lot of the selvedge denim brands focus on making the "best" version of an existing style of pants (like 1947 levi's 501s for example). This doesn't mean that acne has bad fabrics or construction and it doesn't necessarily mean that selvedge denim brands have bad design. But the focus is somewhere else and you are paying for different things when choosing between the brands It seems like the aesthetic you're looking for is not necessarily what """""good""""" (quotations because good is highly subjective) denim brands are specialized in. Although there are more and more brands doing wider cuts If you provide a budget, like tun said, it will be easier to give you appropriate recommendations. FWIW you can wear weekday or uniqlo pants for years without them falling apart when you don't work in construction or something

You could check out mfpen, sunflower, or acne and our legacy on sale. Edwin also does a wide cut now if you want to stick to "denim brands"

i’m after that baggy aesthetic and i understand that you can get good construction from uniqlo but i want things that are more unique, even if i have to thrift or wait for them (this message was meant to be sent along the other one but didn’t due to wi-fi issues) i’ll check out what you suggested

orslow 100 super dad cut/orslow x evan kinori (good luck!) - may not be baggy enough though but build is solid and the denim is nice.
