Most likely bad flash, try either re-flashing the ISO to the USB stick or use a different one
alright
What did you use to flash
i recommend using fedora media writer for the flash
download the windows version and flash the ISO with it
rufus
what do you recomend
alright
Also note officially bazzite only supports uefi boot
also if you mashing escape a lot sometimes you miss the grub menu and you get the grub console instead
i have csm disabled if that is what you mean
never clicked escape so i will just try reflashing with media writer
Cool. Good luck
Where do I get this
Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads
This article lists the download links for the latest versions of Visual C++ Redistributable packages.
thanks
should be the visual c++ redistributable runtimes
donwload the x64 version
ive reflashed and rebooted my pc
but now the usb isnt showing up in my boot menu
@tulip does the media writer convert the drive to btrfs
Have you calculated the checksum on the ISO file and does it match with the checksum hash on the website? Might be the cause of your first issue if the ISO didn't download properly
How do I calculate the checksum
Apologies if this is basic stuff I'm not very smart
I did a video on that a while ago, it's linked in the docs https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/Installation_Guide/Installing_Bazzite_for_Desktop_or_Laptop_Hardware/#calculating-iso-sha256-checksum-hash
Hope that helps 🙂
Thanks!
I'll try it in a moment
Checksum seems to match so it's not that
The USB is no longer being recognized by windows
Hence why I thought it could have been converted to btrfs
If you open Fedora Media Writer again can it see the USB? You might find that the USB drive is on it's way out
In what way
That it's not working?
Even though Windows cannot see the USB drive, can Fedora Media Writer see it?
Can you see the drive in "Disk Management" in Windows?
Yes
Rufus can too
If it is "on its way out" would it be better to create a smaller partition for the installer and then create the os on a larger partition?
Cool so you've tried Rufus and you've tried Fedora Media writer
On the main hdd of the pc
Yes
Maybe try ventoy
I'm currently trying Rufus again
Hope it works. You might want to try safely ejecting the drive. Sometimes that makes a difference
Does the file system matter btw?
What filesystem options do you have in rufus?
They do matter
Ntfs and fat
I tried ntfs
you want to select fat
Am currently trying fat
Alright
ntfs is windows exclusively
Oh ggs
It woeks
Grub showed up
sweet. Hope it installs
And it said "install bazzite"
All is good now!
🤞
@wolfyreload I have another question btw
Sure?
Earlier I created a large partition for bazzite
How would I get it to download there
Install"?#

Should I go to the reclaim space tool?
I got this alert
careful there
I actually have a video for dual-booting Bazzite with Windows 11 I'll link it here, think it will help. You can skip the part with making the bootable USB as you already have that

How to dual-boot Windows 11 and Bazzite (new version)
Bazzite has changed quite a bit in the 10 months since I first used it. This is an updated version of my previous Bazzite dual boot guide.
Note: If you have an AZERTY layout for your keyboard, when you get to the MOK screen, you'll need to enter universqlblue rather than universalblue. Same goes for any other keyboard layout where the letters a...
It covers the manually partitioning and making space in Windows for Bazzite etc
