Forge 1.12.2 Server for 30-75 players

Hello! I have a community of roughly 1,500 people with about 30-50 active players. I host a large RLCraft Dregora server for Forge 1.12.2, recently, bisect has been getting expensive and I've wanted to move to a bare metal server for a bit now, unless you guys suggest another hoster for such a large community? What kind of hardware would I need to host roughly 25-50 players at once for a large modpack of 201 mods? Where can I find this hardware, and who can host it for me for less than $150 a month? If they can, do they set it up, cause i don't know linux to set up linux based servers. Where do I go for this type of equipment, and how can I host such a large community with 1 dedicated server? Can anyone here do it for me? I don't have much money, but I'm very inspired to build a large community of people who loves to play RLCradt Dregora.

What are you current specs, and what’s you plan? Last time I used bisect it wasn’t really that fast, I mean I personally use bloom but that depends on if you have a good deal or not

You can look at hetzner they have good servers I’d suggest pairing it with a ddos provider like tcpshield

What location? look at the RISE-S if eu is fine ryzen 7 9700x 64 gb of ram for like 45-60 euros better antiddos than hetzner aswell

hetzner wont work for US could checkout blooms dedis managed baremetal for 150 is very low tbh and that modpack with many players requires top of the line hardware i dont even know if r9 9950x would be able to do 50 players on rlcraft dregora

OVH/ReliableSite (prolly needs additional DDoS prot)/Bloom I think Bloom is simplest if you have the budget for it (but it seems unlikely), ReliableSite is cheapest if you want to keep spending minimal but are willing to work out DDoS protection separately and deal with other kinks

reliablesite has other issues like undervolting and a panel ipmi that sometimes just doesnt want to whitelist ips

Yeah I’ve heard about both those 😔 Never had the whitelisting IPs issue myself Hope I don’t jinx that lol

Also echoing this—150 is low for bare metal if you want the performance it seems you’re going for

How about 20-30? Cause if not, I could open a second server up for the rest Later down the road
