turtleneck and other knitted layering

i'm looking for - a black (and other dark colours) turtleneck to be worn under an overshirt/jacket/coat of some kind - v neck sweater to be worn over a button down with a tie - regular sweatshirts to be worn under slightly flamboyant/patterned jackets do you have any brand recommendations for these items? prefer dark colours for all of them, and good quality material. budget around 50-60, per piece, willing to stretch if there's something really good out of reach. tia!

Banana republic on sale is fine for 100% merino turtlenecks that fit under suits, they'll run you like $60.

Uniqlo V-necks can be great, they're just slightly trickier to pull off imo. Just check #waywt a number of Ivy-style folks use them as you're suggesting, some streetwear folks too.

Can't give specific brand suggestions, other than what already proposed, as I am EU based, hence they could be a bit different (Suitsupply is beyond that). But 100% merino turtleneck/v-necks will be thin enough for your layering. As for sweatshirts, how about Champions?

Just throwing in that brooks brothers might be a running a half all sale on all their knitwear, which would put their turtlenecks and v-neck within that $50-60 price range. You could also probably find a good amount of BB for less on ebay

I bought some dark turtlenecks recently from LL Bean, and I think they are pretty nice. They run big, so consider sizing down.
