If i select my steamlibrary folder (in my drive) it pulls up but it doesnt recognize any games nor my drive name (the one i set in windows)
installing games on the steamlibrary folder does this
we dont support flatpak steam, if you are hellbent on using it, give it permissions to the drive using flatseal, which you have not.
proton probably didnt work on the installed steam because its (and im blindly guessing with confidence here)
its an ntfs drive from windows. it will not work and is not supported as mentioned by the documentation
https://docs.bazzite.gg/Advanced/KDE_Partition_Manager_Auto_Mount_Guide/#ntfs

Bazzite is a custom image built upon Fedora Atomic Desktops that brings the best of Linux gaming to all of your devices.
how do i reinstall the original version of steam because the flatpak one just freaks out and crashes half the time
you cant uninstall the one we provide
its still there
doesnt launch though
ujust fix-reset-steam
Alright I’ll try that
works 👍
tried again with my new partition (exfat) didnt work
tried with my windows 10 steam library again and it launches fine
idk what changed but it works now
thanks
exfat and ntfs do not support proton
our recommendation is btrfs as it has a windows driver
can i have a link to that none of my linux files show up on windows

@wolfyreload has the most detailed guide on how to do this correctly (just ignore the whole resizing bazzite part as i guess he had no spare externals)
i just grabbed a random ssd from a box and installed bazzite on it  i have more drives
keep in mind epic and gog (i think) and others do not support btrfs in windows, but steam in windows does
i really only play steam games
same
question can i just use gparted on bazzite instead of making a live usb?
nvm
yes but we have kde partition manager (in kde) and gnome disks (in gnome)
but he uses it only to resize the bazzite partition
which you cant do on a running OS
oh
alright so jsut skip that part?
yes, i said you just skip it 😛
keep in mind you cant convert ntfs to btrfs
i thought he was formatting it in gparted 😭
so it will be a reformat
alr
meaning data on the old partition will be deleted
can i just put all the files on my E drive on a usb then put them back on after in done making the btrfs partition?
the whole drive is ntfs
Actually, if you use heroic launcher you can play your epic games on the btrfs drive.
right i forgot heroic has a windows version
but the average person does not use that on windows 😛
Backup and restore method should work
Yeah what?
I can confirm Fortnite installed from Windows Heroic works
That piece of software is amazing
I didn't test GOG Galaxy, but every other first party launcher worked fine (Riot, Infinity Nikki, Arena Breakout etc)
You asked if you can just put all the files on the E drive on a usb and put them back after making the btfs partition. That's a backup and restore method of doing things and yes it should work
it woeked 👍
Cool 🙂
