Black screen freeze at startup
Hello to whomever reads this. I've been trying to set up Bazzite for a couple days now and I will give you a pass down of everything I've done
- I attempted to install Bazzite initially but wasn't aware the PC's wifi card wasn't working so without network the entire thing failed (black screen. Failure to load into anything else. Etc.) also forgot to disable safe boot.
-I went ahead and disabled safe boot
-I placed the M.2 in an enclosure and deleted and reformatted everything. It would black screen at "test media and install Bazzite 41" and "Install Bazzite 41" so I got it to work after going into "troubleshoot" and installed with basic graphics.
-Install was completely non problematic and got into the reboot screen.
Now I'm here. It showed my brand of computer with the Bazzite logo and it has been a black screen ever since.
Please advise. Any information would help me greatly!

What image of Bazzite are you trying to install? bazzite, bazzite-deck, bazzite-gnome?
Also have you tried to leave the machine for 5 minutes when you get the black screen? The Bazzite bootup isn't the fastest, especially the first one
I'm not entirely sure. It's the distro they had me download for home theatre.
I let it sit for about 10 minutes the first time but this one I'm not even sure how long I left it on this time I know it's been less than an hour
And a missing detail from my post. I used an external wifi card to correct the issue with the wifi not working
The PC in question is a Lenovo M75Q Tiny Gen 1. I bought it from eBay for a build for my brother for low end games
When you get your blank screen try and press CTRL+ALT+F2. If you get a full screen terminal, log into the system (note that nothing will display while you type your password). Then run
startplasma
see if that starts the desktop
Once you are in the desktop, you'll probably be able to set up steam etcIt's non responsive. I hard reset the system and still nothing

Fixing the blank screen boot issue in Bazzite
In this video, I will show you how to get into the terminal of Bazzite (note that this also works for almost any other Linux system) by modifying the grub boot entry. We then look at how to unhide grub, how to boot into the desktop mode and lastly how to rollback to a previous version of Bazzite.
Update: Sometimes when you get the blank screen...
New weird development. I decided to go ahead and try it but it wasn't working at all. But I wondered if the HDMI wasn't working and I swapped it and lo and behold I swapped to Display and I'm in
Oh nice :). Glad that you came right. Weird that the HDMI didn't work though
What is even more confusing is the fact that I managed to do the initial setup on HDMI also
Poor system has probably been on setup this whole time
