Trying to fix my hair

hello, im looking for advice on my hair, i have been struggling for years to make my hair look good. i have a big forehead and now im thinning and that hasnt helped. im taking minoxidil and finasteride for it but i feel like even if i improve on that front my hair is just horrible. the front part always seems so damaged, frizzy and it breaks that doesn't let me style my hair at all. 2 days ago i cut it really short in order to kinda "reset" it. and be able to apply minoxidil more effectively but im not sure what to do. i have tried rosemary oil, hair serums, antifrizz shampoo and conditioner, leave in conditioner. but none of it seems to work. the barber recommended batana shampoo. ill try that next but im at a loss please help.

It sounds like maybe you have wavy hair? Have you tried silicone free products?

he also told me about another supplement which im taking he recommended the antifrizz leave in conditioner but that didnt work yeah i think so, but not have looked into silicone free products. i just see that you have to avoid sulfates

Anti frizz won’t do much if you’re drying your hair out with shampoos and other products that aren’t designed to enhance curls I tried a curly hair shampoo once and it was basically conditioner - maybe try cutting down shampooing to once or twice a week and “cleansing” with conditioner for the other days to see where that takes you, so you don’t have to buy new products just yet

I don’t have curly hair so I haven’t personally tried them, but I hear good things about DevaCurl. Olaplex is another good one, but pricey https://a.co/d/6yvnfov I’ve used this - it’s super hydrating - and some reviews mention it being good for curly hair Basically curly hair needs heavy hydration to stay happy, so any moisturizing conditioner (vs an all purpose one like the one you have) is a good place to get started

I've used Olaplex (because I used to have bleached hair) and hear it's also great for curly hair - but it's on the higher end of the price spectrum
